Children

Children less than 40 inches in height ride free, provided the child is accompanied by an adult passenger who has paid a fare, and the child does not occupy a seat at the exclusion of another fare paying passenger (limited to one child per adult). Otherwise, children less than 40 inches in height must pay the full adult fare. Children 40 inches in height and over must pay the full adult fare.

Override Fares

All fares must be paid to the bus operator upon boarding the bus. Passengers paying a fare with a prepaid ticket who board the bus at a fare zone (station) in advance of the origin zone shown on the ticket, shall be required to pay an override charge. Passengers that pay a fare (prepaid ticket or cash) upon boarding the bus, and then ride to a fare zone beyond the destination zone shown on the register receipt, shall be required to pay an override charge. The override charge(s) for the trip extension shall be the applicable local fare between the paid-for zone and the extended origin and/or destination zone.

Stop-Overs

All transportation is sold based on a continuous one-way ride. "Stop-overs" are not permitted between the origin point and destination point of a trip.

Transfers

Transfers are permitted at transfer points designated and authorized by the Company. The transfer fare will be the sum of the combined fares from point of origin to the transfer point, plus the fare from the transfer point to final destination, minus $.50. Transfers will not be issued with tickets (cash only). Transfers are valid only on day of issue, and will not be accepted for rides on the bus route from which the original transfer was issued.

Tickets & Multiple-Ticket Books

Prepaid individual tickets and multiple-ticket books may be purchased at the Company's passenger terminals or ticket agencies. The purchase of multiple-ticket books is limited to a maximum of four (4) books per transaction. Prepaid tickets are good until used, except in cases where expiration dates appears on the face of the ticket. Any ticket or ticket book that is mutilated or contains an erasure and/or alteration shall be void and forfeited to the Company. Credit Card Purchases may be made with Visa, MasterCard or other credit cards approved by the Company, for purchases of tickets at the Port Authority Bus Terminal, New York City, NY.

• One-Way Prepaid Tickets may be used for continuous one-way rides, in either direction; between the fare zones (stations) named or punch marked on the face of the ticket.
• 20-Trip Multiple-Ticket Books contain twenty (20) one-way tickets and may be used for twenty (20) continuous one-way rides, in either direction; between the fare zones (stations) named on the face of the tickets. The price of the individual tickets, when purchased as part of a multiple-ticket book, is substantially reduced from the corresponding one-way fare. Multiple-ticket books are sold with the condition that tickets detached from the book, in advance of actual usage are void without the presence of the book.
• New Jersey 25-Trip Local School Books contain twenty-five (25) one-way tickets and may be used for twenty-five (25) continuous one-way rides, in either direction; between the fare zones (stations) named or punch marked on the face of the tickets. The price of the individual tickets, when purchased as part of a school-ticket book, is substantially reduced from the corresponding one-way fare. The tickets may only be used by school children (including High School) and only between the hours 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM. Additionally, the tickets may only be used by the student for whom the tickets were purchased, while traveling to and from school, on days when school is in session.

AS OF APRIL 1, 2019 WE WILL NO LONGER BE GIVING ANY MONETARY REFUNDS FOR UNUSED BUS TICKETS.  WE WILL EXCHANGE UP TO 5 UNUSED TICKETS WITHIN A SIXTY (60) DAY PERIOD, POSTMARKED ON OR BEFORE THE EXPIRATION DATE.  YOU MUST SEND A SELF ADRESSED STAMPED ENVELOPE WHEN MAILING BACK TICKETS TO ROCKLAND COACHES, INC., ATTN:  TICKET REFUND, 180 OLD HOOK RD. WESTWOOD, NJ 07675.  NO EXCHANGES WILL BE DONE AT ANY OF THE TICKET WINDOWS AT THE PABT OR GWB OR BY ANY BUS DRIVER.

REFUND POLICY FOR INDIVIDUAL TICKETS WILL REMAIN THE SAME; POSTMARKED ON OR BEFORE THE 40 DAY EXPIRATION DATE FOR A REFUND WITH A 15% SURCHARGE.
